Consider at least one point when responding to your peers
1. I feel as though today art and technology are closely connected. For example artists use technology all the time to create digital art and help them to create things, such as muralists sometimes sketch or create there art on a tablet and then project it on there surface or use it as a reference. It is also was easier to access now because of social media and the interent.
i feel like as things changed and grew like books and technologies changed during that time they i believe that even then art closely followed the growth of technologies. they said that printing presses came to europe to print books and im sure that art was extremly affected because of that.
2. I have zero perception of the relationship between art and technology. I am hoping to learn as we go through this class together. The piece by Jan Van Eyck, Giovanni Arnolfini, and His Wife caught my interest for two reasons. The first reason is the name of the piece, "....and His Wife". The second is the way "His Wife" is looking at him. I know women have come a very long way in their places in society, these two examples portray the "place" of a woman in the 1400s and the role of the husband. I also read that the lady is pulling/bunching her dress up in the front to exhibit her willingness to have his children.
I do not know the relationship between art and technology. I can only assume that in today's time, technology would be used to recreate a piece of art from a time when that could not be done so easily. I will admit that this course has already proven to be more difficult to understand than others, but I am eager to learn and read what others have learned and are excited about!
