Introduction

As an accomplished educator, you may be called on to explain the importance of evidence-based

curricula. In this final exam, you will provide a professional development presentation of three

educational approaches/curriculum models used in early childhood programs chosen from the

list below.

The professional development presentation should be at least 7 minutes long and focus on the

guiding questions below. The presentation must be created and recorded in PowerPoint. Record

the presentation as if you would use it as a training opportunity for new teachers.

Afterward, watch the video recording. Reflect on your presentation delivery and content. Write a

reflective response that describes what you learned about the topic by conducting your research.

Finally, three educational approaches/curriculum models used in early childhood programs

chosen from the list below reflect on how you may convey this information to families. The

reflective essay should be a minimum of 300 words. Upload both the link to the video and the

reflective essay in Moodle at the same time. I have provided an example where I embedded a

clickable link at the end of the essay.

View the resources shared in the module about Curricula to familiarize yourself with the various

approaches. You will also research evidence-based Curricula/Approaches to teaching and

learning in Early Childhood using your textbook and at least two additional sources using the

HCC online library. You will search for scholarly articles from academic journals. Some

examples include Young Children, Dimensions, Early Childhood Research Quarterly, and Early

Education and Development.
