Computers: The most important component of a LAN is the computers that are connected to the network. These computers can be desktop computers, laptops, tablets, or even smartphones. Network interface cards (NICs): NICs are the hardware devices that allow computers to connect to a LAN. In computer networking, a network service is an application running at the network application layer and above, that provides data storage, manipulation, presentation, communication or other capability which is often implemented using a client–server or peer-to-peer architecture based on application layer network protocols. Each service is usually provided by a server component running on one or more computers (often a dedicated server computer offering multiple services) and accessed via a network by client components running on other devices. However, the client and server components can both be run on the same machine. Clients and servers will often have a user interface, and sometimes other hardware associated with it. A computer network comprises two or more computers that are connected—either by cables (wired) or WiFi (wireless)—with the purpose of transmitting, exchanging, or sharing data and resources.

IN a IT network there are a lot of connections that must exists, and in order for the work properly there are a lot of key components . Some are things such as knowledge, storage ,ability to have data input software and other key features. but In order for the network components to applicable . One system we use or i have seen in the healthcare field is a Electronic system such as Epic which i believe is widely used, and it is intergraded . which i believe a lot of systems must be intergraded which i believe it means it must be able to operate and have the ability to perform and transition from one system to another and transmit appropriately. it also must be interfaced which i think it means it should be able to come from one source and that that source is able to accept read and transmit medical information as the way it it received. along with full inoperability. I also believe in the connection the network the organization’s network should be secured and abide by HIPPA rules and laws along with compliance . i also believe there has to be there has to be a sense of security ,and not just through the network itself along with cybersecurity and i believe that there has to physical security as well to ensure all medical records and patient information is protected.
Presentation Content-
Health care organizations must have a comprehensive Healthcare Information System to support all applications, such as EHR systems. Healthcare Information Systems are composed of many different parts, each with their own function. It is important to have an understanding of these systems.
Imagine you are an IT Analyst working for a health care organization. This can be an organization that you currently work with, have read about in your research, or an organization that you’d like to work with.
You’ve been tasked with creating a presentation for new employee orientation. You may also want to view “How to Make a Presentation” to help create your presentation. Video transcript is available here.
Prepare a 10–12 multimedia-rich slide presentation that focuses on the personnel structure of the department and the details of the Healthcare Information System. This presentation must include detailed speaker notes describing the applications, hardware, and network with this health care organization, including a network diagram.
Your presentation should cover the following:
Presentation Introduction (1 slide)
Healthcare Information Technology Department Chart (2 slides)
- An organizational chart that shows the roles in your current department (i.e., Chief Information Officer, Project Manager, Healthcare IT Analyst, etc.)
- A brief description of each role in the department
Overview of IT System (1 slide)
- An illustrative diagram of the entire IT infrastructure, including network, hardware, and applications
Section 1: Hardware (2 slides)
- Describe the functions of each of the hardware components. Include details of the importance of the hardware components and their relation to the other components of the Healthcare Information System.
Section 2: Network (2 slides)
- Describe the functions of each of the network components. Include details of the importance of the network components and their relation to the other components of the Healthcare Information System.
Section 3: Applications (2 slides)
- Describe the functions of each of the Clinical and non-clinical application components, including the EMR system. Include details of the importance of these applications and their relation to the other components of the Healthcare Information System.
References (1 slide)
Include speaker notes on all slides, with the exception of the title slide and reference slide.
Format your assignment according to APA guidelines.
Provide a minimum of 2 academic references.
