AAA uses
The Chicago Manual of Style (1993)
with certain exceptions.

Quotations:

All published quotations must be cited with year and page number(s):

(Ardren 1992:78). When a cited extract runs to more than four text lines, it must be set off as a block; double indented and single spaced.

Text Citations:

All references must be cited in author-date format; all citations must be listed in a “References Cited” page at the end of the paper. Place citations at the end of the sentence in which cited material occurs in the following format (Ardren 2002:2). Use colon, no space between year of publication and page number. Use “et al.” in text for publications with more than three authors, but spell out all authors in “References Cited”. Do not use “ibid” for repeated references. Use only university or research project websites! Cite them in your text as “web 1” and “web 2” etc.

Research Paper Outline Guidelines

A research paper outline is a useful tool in the writing process, providing a structure to follow with all information to be included in the paper clearly organized.

A quality outline can make writing your research paper more efficient by helping to:

*Organize your thoughts

*Understand the flow of information and how ideas are related

*Ensure nothing is forgotten

Here is an example of a good outline. It has clear sections and sub-sections that connect to one another. It has a relatively equal number of sub-sections in each section.

A. Definition of measles

B. Rise in cases in recent years in places the disease was previously eliminated or had very low rates of infection

C. Figures: Number of cases per year on average, number in recent years. Relate to immunization

II.
DANGERS OF MEASLES

A. Symptoms and timeframes of disease

B. Risk of fatality, including statistics

C. How measles is spread

III. PREVENTATIVE MEASURES AND RECENT DOUBTS

A. Immunization procedures in different regions

B. The immunization debate, addressing two sides: why immunization is recommended and why there are groups questioning its validity

C. Different regions, focusing on the arguments from those against immunization

IV. SPECIFIC CASES OF NOTE RELATED TO IMMUNIZATION DEBATE
