The experiential learning method is based on the relationship between learning and experience. Individuals acquire these experiences outside of the traditional academic classroom setting and may include internships, studies abroad, field trips, field research, professional duties held, and service-learning projects. Experiential learning includes four main elements: concrete experience, reflective observation, abstract conceptualization, and active experimentation. When writing your essay, use the criteria below to guide you. • The project should be personally meaningful and have some significance to you. • Reflect on and discuss the learning experience throughout the process of the assignment. • Ensure to involve you as a whole person, including your senses, personality, and emotions. • Utilize your previous knowledge of the subject matter. Keep in mind that this is an experiential essay (see above). The topic selected will serve as the foundation for your paper and must surround an experience within that topic. The topic is Army Health System. Using MS Word, write a one-page outline for your essay. Your outline must: • be developed around the topic selected • follow APA 6th ed. guidelines • include a reference page • be concise and informative NOTE: Make sure thesis is clear, reflects in-depth understanding of the subject while giving the strong structural direction. What the writer will prove about the subject is extremely clear. The outline contains very precise, detailed, and well- articulated information that is essential to the topic. Contains a topic sentence and three Supporting examples/details that are relevant, detailed, and reveals an in-depth understanding of the topic.
