Final Project

For your Final Project, you may write a paper or create a PowerPoint presentation.

• If you choose to write a paper, it must be four to five pages in length, plus a title page and reference list, formatted according to APA style.
• If you choose to create a PowerPoint project, it must be 12 to 15 slides, plus a title slide and a reference slide, formatted according to APA style. Be sure to save your presentation as a PDF before submitting it to Waypoint.
• Please note that whether you choose to write a paper or create a PowerPoint presentation, you must properly cite your sources according to APA style.

To complete this project

• Choose from one of the topics below and analyze its history from 1877 to the present.
• Select four specific events or developments that span the years covered by this course, based on their impact on the topic. Two of the events must be from before 1945 and two events must be from after 1945. You must assess how the events in relationship to the topic changed over time and explain how the changes occurred. Please refer back to your Week Three Assignment, consider your instructor’s comments and make any necessary revisions.
• Write an introduction with a thesis. Your thesis should summarize the main conclusions that you discovered while researching your topic and that you will support with a logical argument based on evidence (sources). Please refer back to your Week Three Assignment, consider your instructor’s comments, and make any necessary revisions to your thesis statement.
• Connect each of the events or developments you have chosen back to your main thesis. The information presented must be organized and in chronological order.
• You must use at least four sources in your paper other than the textbook, with at least two primary sources and at least two secondary sources. Please refer back to your Week Three Assignment, consider your instructor’s comments, and make any necessary revisions.

Choose one of the following topics:

• Native Americans/American Indians
• African Americans
• Immigrants
• Women

For example, a student writing a paper about the topic African Americans might choose the Harlem Renaissance and the Black Power Movement as two of their events. In that case, the paper would provide a description of the two movements. It would explain what each one revealed about the role of African Americans in broader American society in, respectively, the 1920s and the late 1960s, explain how and why the roles of African Americans in the 1920s differed from their roles in the late 1960s, and explain how events in the 1920s may have contributed to developments in the later decade.

If you choose to create a PowerPoint presentation: You should use visual elements to contribute to your explanation of the topic. PowerPoint presentations should avoid plagiarism and have proper APA citations for all source material either in the note section at the bottom of each slide, or on the last slide of the show indicating sources for each slide. The final slide must be a correctly formatted reference list containing all of your sources. You may use non-scholarly sources for your images, but not for the text of the presentation. Make sure to pay attention to color and style. You will need to save your PowerPoint presentation as a PDF before you submit it to Waypoint. Use the Converting a PowerPoint to PDF tutorial.

I need assistance with an assignment for A&P. Topic is Pathology of Vitiligo. The major body system that must be discussed is the Integumentary system, specifically the skin.

Length: Between 4-6 full pages of content, double-spaced - 
Title page and the Reference page (both on separate pages) do NOT contribute to page count.

Use of images/tables/diagrams will not count for total page number either.

RUBRIC FOCUSES ON SCIENTIFIC VOCAB BEING USED THROUGHOUT ASSIGNMENT

Description of Pathology: 

• In this section, you will describe the pathology (statistics about it, background information, etc.). Give as much information as you can about it but be sure it is relevant information and not just filler. It should be a comprehensive introductory section of the condition in one to two paragraphs.

Normal anatomy of the major body system affected: In this section, you will describe what is considered normal anatomy for your particular pathophysiology. For example, if you are discussing a disease related to the brain, explain what is normal for the brain from an anatomical standpoint. You should show comprehensive knowledge of the fundamental concepts and communicate information using scientific vocabulary. There should be little to no discussion of the condition itself in this section.

Normal physiology of the major body system affected: In this section, you will be discussing physiology. Keep in mind that when describing physiology, it isn’t enough to merely provide a list of functions of the body system (Ex: Neurons send signals throughout the body), instead, you need to be able to describe how it does it. The how is the physiology. There should be little to no discussion of the condition itself in this section

Mechanism of Pathophysiology: This section is likely going to be the most in-depth and longest section. In this section, you will explain your particular pathophysiology from a scientific standpoint. In the previous two sections, you explained what is considered normal, in this section, you should describe what the pathophysiology is doing that is causing these issues, how the normal anatomy & physiology is affected/different in a person with your condition. You should show a thorough understanding of the anatomical and physiological changes contributing to the disease. Some good keywords to search for when doing your research might be "Pathology of __________”, Pathophysiology of __________."

Prevention: In this section, you will explain how your pathophysiology could be prevented. This should outline possible prevention protocols, or clearly indicate if none is available based on the current scientific literature.

Treatment: In this section, you will explain how your pathophysiology is commonly treated. Provide possible treatment protocols for the condition based on current scientific literature. Be sure to bring in nursing relevant information and how you might be involved in the treatment of the condition.

Conclusion: Finally you should summarize your findings. All good research papers should include a conclusion where you wrap up and summarize all of the important points made in your paper.

References:

• As with the Title page, this should be a separate page by itself.
• All references should be included in correct and complete APA format.
• All references must be cited appropriately in the paper using APA-style in-text citations.
• A minimum of three reputable sources are required for this assignment.
• Mechanisms of pathophysiology should be your longest and most detailed section. It should be the nuts and bolts of the paper. The second longest sections should be the normal anatomy and then the normal physiology.  Put the most time into these three sections! Each one of these should be at least 2/3's of a page.
